Burien Power Outage Update

Seattle City Light crews are working to restore power for about 250 customers in Burien, who lost power when a tree fell into power lines Thursday night.

Seattle City Light repair crews continue to work at restoring power for about 250 customers in Burien, who lost service when a tree fell into power lines Thursday night.

The storm-related outage began about 7 p.m. Aug. 13. City Light crews patrolled the tree-lined area throughout the evening searching for trouble spots that caused the outage. Crews removed one tree that fell into power lines but other problems remain. Darkness and the topography hindered the repair effort Thursday night.

Crews energized the main feeder line for the area about 11:30 a.m. and are now working to restore each lateral line that carries power into smaller groups of homes and businesses. Service restoration is expected about 2 p.m.

The boundaries of the outage, which is affecting about 250 customers, are SW 154th Street on the North; SW 182nd Street on the South; 21st  Avenue SW on the East; and Puget Sound on the West.

City Light realizes that any power outage is an inconvenience to customers and we will work diligently to restore power to Burien area customers.
