Power Out for 340 Customers in Queen Anne

Seattle City Light repair crews are investigating the cause of an underground cable failure that led to an outage for about 340 customers in Queen Anne, including the Seattle Center about 11 a.m.

Seattle City Light repair crews are investigating the cause of an underground cable failure that led to an outage for about 340 customers in Queen Anne, including the Seattle Center about 11 a.m.

This was the second outage at Seattle Center today involving the underground cable.

Dispatchers expect to route power around the damage and restore service to the affected customers by 2 p.m.

The general boundaries of the outage were Roy Street on the north, Eagle Street on the south, Valley Street on the east and 2nd Avenue W on the west.

Seattle City Light is the ninth largest public electric utility in the United States.  It has the lowest cost customer rates of any urban utility, providing reliable, renewable and environmentally responsible power to nearly 1 million Seattle area residents.  City Light has been greenhouse gas neutral since 2005, the first electric utility in the nation to achieve that distinction.
