Landslide Causes Power outage in South Seattle

A landslide near 68th Avenue S and Martin Luther King Jr. Way in unincorporated King County was responsible for a power outage affecting about 2,800 customers in the Rainier Beach, South Seattle and Tukwilla areas.

A landslide near 68th Avenue S and Martin Luther King Jr. Way in unincorporated King County was responsible for a power outage affecting about 2,800 customers in the Rainier Beach, South Seattle and Tukwilla areas. 

During the landslide several trees fell into power lines, knocking down several utility poles. Crews estimated that power could be restored for all customers about 5 p.m.

The general boundaries of the outage are on the north, S. Bangor St.; on the south, S. 170th St; on the east 76th Ave S and on the West 42nd Ave S.  Not all customers within these boundaries are affected.
