Today the City Council unanimously passed a resolution allowing Seattle City Light to extend residential rate assistance to low-income customers residing in the Seattle Housing Authority and King County Housing Authority if they are not receiving other assistance with their electric utility bills.

About 3,600 customers in Ravenna, Wedgwood, View Ridge and the University District, including part of the University of Washington campus, lost power about 8:15 p.m. today. Crews isolated the outage to about 200 customers within 30 minutes. Full restoration is estimated for midnight.

Seattle City Light to Add Eight All-electric LEAFs

Mayor Mike McGinn announced this morning that the City of Seattle is buying 35 all-electric Nissan LEAFs for the city fleet. Seattle City Light will get eight of those vehicles.
