A new report by the Renewable Northwest Project shows Seattle City Light’s customers are leading the way in the Pacific Northwest on investing in additional renewable energy development. It’s one more reason City Light is the nation’s greenest utility.
The 12,547 participants in Seattle City Light’s Green Up program is the most by far in a voluntary green power purchasing program among Northwest publicly owned utilities. In fact, that’s four times the participation of the next biggest green power program for a publicly owned utility.
Additionally, City Light’s Green Up program saw the largest growth in participation among publicly owned utilities, according to the report. The number of customers participating in Green Up grew by 10 percent from 2010 to 2012.
