Free Cookin’ with Kilowatts Cookbook Available Online

Just in time for the holidays, Seattle City Light has compiled a free online cookbook featuring 24 tasty recipes from our Cookin’ with Kilowatts contest. It’s even got the rice casserole from City Light General Manager and CEO Jorge Carrasco.

Power Restored in Ballard, Queen Anne, Magnolia

An underground cable failure was the cause of a power outage Monday that affected about 9,700 homes and businesses in parts of Ballard, Queen Anne, and Magnolia.

Local Students Shrink Bigfoot, Offer Energy Saving Advice

Have you ever wondered what kids have to say about saving energy? Seattle City Light asked local students in grades 3-6 to illustrate how they can save energy and shrink their carbon footprint for the 2nd Annual Shrinking Bigfoot Calendar Contest. More than 350 students throughout the utility’s service territory participated in this year’s contest, and 12 were chosen from a panel of judges. The winning artwork was developed into a 2014 calendar that will be sold to the public. Winners also received a great prize package that included tickets to the Woodland Park Zoo and Pacific Science Center, safety and school supplies from Seattle City Light, and much more! Crews Restore Power to 43,000+ in North Seattle

After 5:30 p.m. this evening, a breaker failure in the North Substation caused a power outage to more than 43,000 customers. The cause of the breaker failure is still being investigated.As of 8:30 p.m., all 43,000 customers have been restored by crews.
