Power restored to more than 45,000

City Light crews worked through a windy and wet night, restoring power to about 45,000 customers by 10 a.m. today.

The outages began at around 5:45 p.m. on Oct. 25, and quickly escalatated. The combination of wet soils from a week of rains, and high winds on trees with leaves still on them, led to a string of outages from falling branches on lines.

The areas hardest hit included the Seward Park and Skyway neighborhoods, where crews are still working this morning to restore power to about 6,800 customers. More than 7,000 remain without power in our service area.

Crews are working on repairs to our distribution lines, and will likely need to work late into Sunday evening and early Monday to fully restore services.

We thankĀ our customers for their grace and patience.
