Electrical Upgrades Planned in the Delridge Neighborhood

Seattle City Light crews plan to upgrade the electrical reliability of the Delridge neighborhood by replacing aging utility poles, overhead wire, and equipment along Southwest Brandon Street, 21st Avenue Southwest, Southwest Andover Street, and 23rd Avenue Southwest. These improvements will support growth for future electrical infrastructure in the area while reducing unplanned power outages.

City Light Continues Utility Pole Upgrades for Advanced Metering

In January 2017, Seattle City Light will continue supporting Advanced Metering services throughout the utility’s service territory by replacing existing utility poles with taller poles, which will host wireless utility data collection equipment. The new poles will be 70 feet tall, which is about 20 feet taller than the existing poles.

A tree branch fell into power lines near SW Hanford Street and 46th Avenue SW in West Seattle about 9:30 a.m., causing a power outage affecting 10, 900 customers.

An underground power cable failed about 7 a.m. today, cutting service to about 2,900 homes and businesses in the Delridge area for an hour until Seattle City Light crews restored power.

Seattle City Light crews restored power at 1:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 15 to all 850 customers in an area from Delridge to White Center.

A repair crew restored power about 1:15 a.m. to the 1980 homes and businesses in South Seattle and part of unincorporated King County that had been affected by a power outage since about 12:20 a.m.
