Seattle City Light Celebrates Public Power Week

Denny Substation Construction to Cause Denny Way Lane Closures, Starting Oct. 14

Seattle City Light is asking travelers to prepare for five weeks of lane closures on Denny Way between Stewart St and Minor Ave N beginning Friday, Oct. 14. During this time, crews will be installing underground utilities for the Denny Substation.

UPDATED: Long-Term Lane Closures on Denny Way Due to Electrical Substation Work

On Sunday, Aug. 28 crews will begin electrical duct bank excavation work on Denny Way. This project will require closures of both westbound lanes on Denny Way weekday and weekend nights. The westbound lanes closure is the first of three phases of work that will occur in Denny Way over the next three months.

Roadway Restoration Work Begins on Stewart Street August 3

Beginning Monday, August 1, the contractor for Seattle City Light’s Denny Network Project (part of the Denny Substation Program) will begin final restoration work along Stewart Street between Minor Avenue and 6th Avenue. This work will affect commuters entering the city, particularly at the Stewart Street exit from southbound I-5.

City Light to Participate in South Lake Union Saturday Market Opening Day

Seattle City Light will be present at the opening day of the South Lake Union Saturday Market on May 14. The utility will be distributing information and answering questions related to the construction of the Denny Substation, which will be located near the Saturday Market.

Denny Network Construction Continues on Stewart Street

Seattle City Light’s contractor for the Denny Network Project has received a noise variance to work at night and in the early morning to install a large electrical vault on Stewart Street between Boren Avenue and Terry Avenue.
