City Light Completes Streetlight Infrastructure Upgrades in Shelby-Hamlin

This past fall, contracted crews completed a six-month project to replace an aging streetlight system in the Shelby-Hamlin/Montlake area. Crews replaced the streetlight fixtures, poles and underground infrastructure with updated equipment. The new fixtures were selected, based on community feedback from local residents.

Streetlight Infrastructure Upgrades Planned in Shelby-Hamlin

Beginning in April 2019, Seattle City Light will replace the aging streetlights in the Shelby-Hamlin neighborhood with a new, more reliable light-emitting diode (LED) streetlight system. The new LED streetlights will make residential streets safer by increasing their visibility at night.

Crews Working to Restore Remaining 2,000

City Light crews continue to restore power to the remaining 2,000 customers affected by over 50 separate outages.

Arboretum Streetlight Replacement Work Starts June 21

Seattle City Light is scheduled to start work Monday, June 21, to replace 71 streetlights and the deteriorating underground electric cables that power them in the Washington Park Arboretum.
