Customer Equipment Failure Causes Seattle Center, Monorail Outage

A power outage affecting a portion of the Seattle Center and the Seattle Monorail is the result of an equipment failure at Seattle Center.

Planned Power Outage at Seattle Center Monday, May 24

Seattle City Light plans to make necessary repairs within an electrical vault that affects Seattle Center. These repairs will take place during a 7-hour outage that will begin at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, May 23rd and will continue until Monday morning, May 24th with the planned power restored at 7:00 a.m.

Update: Power Restored for Most of Seattle Center

Power has been restored to most of the Seattle Center from an outge that started about 9:30 a.m. today. The only building that remains without power is the Center House.

Power Out for Parts of Seattle Center, Surrounding Neighborhoods

A power outage was reported at the Seattle Center about 9:30 a.m. today. A crew was immediately dispatched to determine the cause of the outage and make repairs.

Seattle City Light repair crews are investigating the cause of an underground cable failure that led to an outage for about 340 customers in Queen Anne, including the Seattle Center about 11 a.m.
