Seattle City Light and its contractor, KC Equipment, have completed the first phase of an electrical reliability and capacity upgrade in the Webster Point neighborhood of Laurelhurst.
Seattle City Light is enhancing the reliability of its electrical system by transferring transmission lines onto new poles on the east and west sides of Interstate 5 at NE 60th Street. Intermittent rolling slowdowns in both directions on I-5 between Northgate Way and State Route 520 are necessary for motorist and worker safety.

Seattle City Light plans to inspect streetlights on the Ballard Bridge following the Seattle Department of Transportation’s seismic upgrades. The inspection is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 17 starting at 7 p.m. and ending at 6 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 18. Single northbound and southbound lane closures on the bridge will be necessary. Motorists should expect rolling slowdowns in the direction of the affected lane. Only one lane at a time will be closed.

City Light crews are planning work in the Capitol Hill neighborhood near Broadway and East Pike Street to repair a damaged underground duct bank. The project is scheduled to begin Saturday, May 16 and will ensure increased electrical capacity in the future and allow the continued use of the duct bank.
