City Light employees, along with their friends and families, turned out for the Oct. 3, 2009 Puget Sound Heart Walk at Qwest Field in support of the American Heart Association. At last count, 58 walkers from the utility had signed up for the fundraiser, with both walkers and their supporters contributing $5,600. This was part of a City of Seattle effort to rally employees from all City departments and raise thousands for the cause of heart health.

The American Heart Association provides more than $6.7 million in research grants to five local institutions each year, and City Light considers Heart Walk an excellent opportunity to volunteer and raise awareness for an organization that saves lives.
