Power restored to University District

SEATTLE — Seattle City Light crews restored  power in the University District and University Village area after a 45 minute outage that started about 11:30 p.m. There were  2575 customers without power.  Crews found a tree in a power line and made repairs.  The boundaries of the outage were, on the north,  NE 75th St.; on the south, NE 55th St.; on the east, 45th Ave NE and on the west, 8th Ave NE .  Not all customers within these boundaries are affected.

Seattle City Light is the ninth largest public electric utility in the United States.  It has the lowest cost customer rates of any urban utility, providing reliable, renewable and environmentally responsible power to nearly 1 million Seattle area residents.  City Light has been greenhouse gas neutral since 2005, the first electric utility in the nation to achieve that distinction.
