Seattle City Light crews have restored power to the First Hill area of Seattle. The outage began about 4:30 p.m. and affected about 4,500 customers in the First Hill area of Seattle. Power was restored about 6:50 p.m.
The cause of the outage is a faulty connection point on a switch that feeds the underground electrical system. When it rains after a long dry spell dust on equipment gets wet and can cause short circuits.
The general boundaries of the outage were: East Harrison Street on the north, East Union Street on the south, Bellevue Avenue on the west and 23rd Avenue on the east.
