How Businesses Can Save on Energy Upgrades This Year

At City Light, we want to make your energy solutions simple. We offer instant discounts, rebates, performance-based incentives, and other supporting services. With technical expertise, our teams are here to help! In fact, your business could save up to 70% on the cost of energy-efficient upgrades this year.

Our teams can help you reduce operating costs, improve building performance, and meet energy compliance requirements.

Let’s look at how you can save big on energy upgrades this year.

Energy solutions made simple

If it saves electricity, we can likely help pay for it.  Hundreds of businesses have increased efficiency and saved money. Yours could be next!

We partnered with Fremont Brewing to help them save more than $36,000 on energy costs! Director of Brewing Operations, Matt Lincoln, took us on a tour and explained how easy the process was.

From small businesses and grocery stores to large office buildings and manufacturers, all types of organizations can benefit from the following programs.

Instant discounts for immediate impact

Not every project requires an extensive application process. The Lighting to Go and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC)+ programs offer instant, at-purchase discounts when you or your contractor shop from participating local distributors.

Whether upgrading old fluorescent tubes to LEDs or replacing rooftop HVAC units, you will receive up-front savings on Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) Certified™ high-efficiency equipment. These discounts apply to retrofits, new construction, and even emergency replacements.

Simple rebates with easy application

If you buy qualified equipment, you can apply for simple rebates by submitting your transactions within 90 days.

There is no need for pre-approval, and rebates are available for a wide range of products: lighting, HVAC, refrigeration, and more.

Performance-based incentives for complete savings

For a more comprehensive approach, our performance-based incentives reward you for verified energy savings achieved over time. Programs include:

  • Commercial Retrofit Incentives. If your building system consumes electricity, it’s eligible: lighting fixtures, lighting controls, variable speed drives for fans or pumps, HVAC upgrades, Building Management Systems (BMS), motors, boilers, etc.
  • Whole Building Performance. You can get multi-year incentives for the total energy savings measured at your electric meter, plus the flexibility to choose between or combine equipment upgrades and operational improvements.
  • Multifamily Retrofit Incentives. We have efficiency incentives for building owners looking to upgrade windows, insulation, and more. Plus, income-qualified properties qualify for higher incentives on traditional weatherization measures, including new incentives for ductless heat pumps and thermostats.
  • New Construction Incentives. Our Energy Design Assistance Program offers a free whole-building energy modeling analysis and energy conservation funding presented in selectable bundles for new construction, with bonus funding for affordable multifamily housing.

Other custom, supplemental, and calculated incentives

Some projects involve systems unique to your building. Others simply require more complex upgrades. For these, we have “custom” or “calculated” incentives available.

Once we review your project, we can determine what incentive amounts work best for you. Don’t worry: our Energy Advisors will guide you every step of the way.

We offer supplemental incentives such as the Energy Project Manager incentive that allows our funding to go beyond the 70% funding cap per project.
