SEATTLE —
Seattle City Light crews are responding to an outage in the First Hill and Capitol Hill neighborhoods. The outage was first reported at about midnight. Electricity has been restored for about 99 percent of the customers impacted. There are an estimated 29 customers still without electricity. The cause of the outage is currently not known. City Light does not have an estimated restoral time.
The general boundaries of the outage area are: north, John St.; south, E. Columbia St.; east, 21st Ave.; and west, Yale Ave. N.
Seattle City Light is the ninth largest public electric utility in the United States. It has the lowest cost customer rates of any urban utility, providing reliable, renewable and environmentally responsible power to nearly 1 million Seattle area residents. City Light has been greenhouse gas neutral since 2005, the first electric utility in the nation to achieve that distinction.
