Power restored in West Seattle

An hour long poweroutage is repaired in West Seattle

SEATTLE — Seattle City Light experienced a power outage in the White Center and Highland Park neighborhoods this afternoon about 3 p.m. Power was restored about an hour later.  A tree had caused a line carrying power to approximately 6960 customers to go off line.  Crews were able to make repairs and power was back on by 3:55 p.m.

Seattle City Light is the ninth largest public electric utility in the United States.  It has some of the lowest cost customer rates of any urban utility, providing reliable, renewable and environmentally responsible power to nearly 1 million Seattle area residents.  City Light has been greenhouse gas neutral since 2005, the first electric utility in the nation to achieve that distinction.
