Power Outages Affecting 3400 Customers

Seattle City Light repair crews are responding to power outages affecting about 3,400 Seattle area customers, with the largest outage affecting about 2,900 customers in the Skyway area of southeast Seattle.

The Skyway outage was reported about 9:50 a.m. The cause was not immediately known. Crews will provide an estimate for full restoration of service after they identify the problem.

Crews also are responding to an earlier outage in the Admiral area of West Seattle. Service to about 518 customers there should be restored within the hour.

Seattle City Light is the 10th largest public electric utility in the United States.  It has some of the lowest cost customer rates of any urban utility, providing reliable, renewable and environmentally responsible power to nearly 1 million Seattle area residents.  City Light has been greenhouse gas neutral since 2005, the first electric utility in the nation to achieve that distinction.
