Nearly 13,000 Without Power in Queen Anne/Magnolia

About 12,790 customers remain out of power in the Queen Anne and Magnolia neighborhoods, including parts of Seattle Center. The outage was caused by equipment failure at a distribution substation, though the specific gear hasn’t been identified.

Operators expect that power will be restored by about 7:30 p.m.

Seattle City Light is the 10th largest public electric utility in the United States. It has some of the lowest cost customer rates of any urban utility, providing reliable, renewable and environmentally responsible power to nearly 1 million Seattle area residents. City Light has been greenhouse gas neutral since 2005, the first electric utility in the nation to achieve that distinction.
