Supporting Scouts

This month, Seattle City Light celebrates the Girl Scouts centennial by sponsoring energy conservation activities with local troops. Scouts are encouraged to visit City Light’s Exploring Energy Web page for kids to learn more about where their electricity comes from and ways to conserve.

During the “cookie month” of March, scouts will be putting cookie boxes they’ve sold in paper bags that carry conservation messages from City Light.

The Girl Scouts “Forever Green” theme runs through September, with a different environmental emphasis each month.

Seattle City Light is the 10th largest public electric utility in the United States. It has some of the lowest cost customer rates of any urban utility, providing reliable, renewable and environmentally responsible power to nearly 1 million Seattle area residents. City Light has been greenhouse-gas neutral since 2005, the first electric utility in the nation to achieve that distinction.
