Seattle City Light crews completed repairs and restored power to all customers affected by two outages today.
A West Seattle/Burien outage was restored about 8:30 a.m.
The outage in the Capitol Hill/Eatslake area initially affected about 3,750 customers, starting about 5:30 a.m. The initial bounadries were E. Allison Street on the north, E. Republican Street on the south, 13th Avenue E on the east, and Minot Avenue E on the west.
This outage started when a tree fell into power lines. Crews responded and re-routed power in an attempt to restore service. Once the electricity load was switched to a different circuit, however, that circuit experienced an equipment failure, increasing the number of customers affected to about 6,400. Crews determined a distribution wire broke and caused the second outage.
