How long have you been at City Light?  Around nine months 

Division: Regulatory Affairs  

Tell us about your role. What does your job entail? I primarily work on law and policy issues impacting City Light. This entails participating in Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) proceedings, interpreting FERC orders, coordinating with trade associations and regional partners, working with outside counsel, managing compliance, and advising business units on regulatory requirements and best practices. I also work on comparable state laws and regulations.

Tell us about your family:  I have two daughters, Alia, 2½, and Ellora, 6 months, and a wife Chaitra who is an oncologist at the University of Washington/Fred Hutch.

What would people never guess that you do in your role? It’s very interesting! I get to work on cutting edge energy issues.  

What was your first job and what did you do? Bagging groceries at Albertsons.  

What TV show are you currently bingeing? None. My daughters are unforgiving taskmasters.  

If you could have dinner with one person, living or deceased, who would it be and why? Teddy Roosevelt – he was a ball of energy and was interested in everything.  

What is your late-night, guilty pleasure food? Peanut butter, chocolate, and milk.
