Tell us about your role. What does your job entail? As a validation supervisor, I lead a team responsible for resolving billing exceptions for Seattle City Light’s residential and commercial customer electricity accounts.
Background
Hometown: Seattle, Wash.
Alma mater: Eastern Washington University
Discipline/Trade of study: Business management
Tell us about your family/pets: I have one handsome son, siblings, and a host of nieces and nephews. I want to be a pet owner.
Just for fun
The big game is on – what sport are you watching and who are you rooting for? On my couch, under a blanket, always rooting for the home team!! Go Hawks! Also, bring our Sonics back!!
What is the one item you can’t live without that needs electricity to operate? My phone.
What obstacles have you overcome in your career? I think, for the most part, our biggest obstacle is ourselves, me included. Self-doubt leaves you stagnant. It makes you think you’re not good enough and stops you from taking chances.
What advice do you have for those who are new to City Light? Learn as much as you can from as many people as you can. The more, the better. It will help you in your own role.
What is your favorite local activity? I love the water, and although I can’t swim, I love being next to and seeing water. Walking the loop at Seward Park is top tier.
How many languages can you speak? What are they? I took French in junior high and Spanish in high school, but currently, I only speak English. LOL!
