U.S. Secretary of Energy Ernest Moniz’s recent release of A Strategic Roadmap for American Energy Innovation: Economic Growth and Competitiveness demonstrates national support for doubling the country’s energy productivity by 2030, a goal Seattle City Light has championed as a partner in the Alliance to Save Energy.
Seattle City Light is sharing its expertise in energy efficient street lighting as part of a White House advisory team that is working to help the city of Detroit replace its crumbling streetlight and electrical infrastructure, enhance disaster recovery, reduce theft and vandalism, promote urban renewal and negotiate tariffs related to electrical services.
Seattle City Light General Manager and CEO Jorge Carrasco is scheduled to join US Secretary of Energy Ernest Moniz on Monday for a discussion on how to double American energy productivity by 2030 during the Energy Efficiency Global Forum in Washington, D.C.
