Seattle City Light crews have restored service to 460 customers in Queen Anne who lost power when an underground cable failed about 9:15 a.m. today.
The Seattle Police Department reported an explosion at 1st Avenue West and West Thomas Street. Crews were immediately dispatched to determine the cause of the outage and make repairs. Service was restored about 9:30 a.m.
The general boundaries of the outage were W Republican Street on the north, Denny Way on the south, 2nd Avenue W on the east, and Elliott Avenue W on the west. Not all customers within those boundaries were affected.
