When folks visit the Woodland Park Zoo, they check out the animals and take a spin on the historic carousel. But this popular attraction was recently given a high-tech, ecofriendly makeover — solar panels now power the fun. It’s part of Seattle City Light’s solar-panel demonstration project. And even in the gray Emerald City, Mother Nature still works her wonders to keep the fun going.

Seattle Channel is featuring the solar carousel in this week’s episode of CityStream, which premiere’s Thursday night. But you can get a sneak peek at the show and learn more about City Light’s project and partnership with the zoo.

Then tune in Thursday, May 5 for an all new CityStream. Artistic expressions may come easily for many creative types, but for others, it’s more a challenge: Meet one Seattle artist who uses art as a form of therapy. Plus, meet the racers who run for fun and to help maintain Seattle parks. Join host Nicole Sanchez from Artist and Craftsman Supply in the University District for these stories and more, Thursday, May 5 at 7:00 p.m on the SEATTLE CHANNEL, Cable 21 or watch it online at www.seattlechannel.org.
