As it plans to provide for the community’s future energy needs and meet state renewable energy requirements, Your Seattle City Light wants to hear your ideas on what the mix of power sources should be.
City Light power planners have eight different power “portfolios” that represent a mix of energy resources under consideration. The public is invited to hear about those resources and to provide comments to the utility on a portfolio preference. The utility will use customer and stakeholder comments for the 2012 Integrated Resource Plan that will be submitted to the State of Washington by Sept. 1.
Three meetings are scheduled to hear from the public:
- April 12 from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Bertha Knight Landes Room of City Hall
- April 17 from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Northgate Community Center,10510 5th Ave. NE
- And April 19 from 7 to 8 p.m. at the NewHolly Gathering Hall, 7054 32nd Ave. S
Seattle City Light updates its Integrated Resource Plan every two years, as required by state law. A draft of the new plan will be presented to Mayor Mike McGinn and the City Council this summer for their consideration before it is submitted to the state.
