About 100 cooks throughout our service territory have already submitted delicious, energy-efficient recipes, such as White Hot Chili, Cool Cucumber Kitchen; Casino Style Sea Scallops; and 0.6 Kilowatt Crockpot Coq Au Vin.

The best thing about the “Cookin’ with Kilowatts” contest is that everyone is a winner. All customers who submit a recipe using a more-energy-efficient method of cooking will receive a free City Light pot holder and chef’s hat. Limit one pot holder and chef’s hat per household.

You might also earn all the online glory we can create with our website. We will include 25 recipes in an online Cookin’ with Kilowatts Guide to Great Recipes by Seattle’s Thrifty Kilowatt Chefs.

Creativity and fun will be rewarded.

Each submission will be based on creativity, energy saved and presentation. Bonus points will be awarded to participants who take a photo wearing the chef’s hat and submit it to SCL_Recipes@seattle.gov.
