AEE West 2026: Collaborating for a Resilient, Sustainable Future

We were proud to join industry leaders, innovators, and decision-makers in Bellevue for the AEE West Energy Conference and Expo, which we co-hosted alongside Puget Sound Energy. The conference focused on energy efficiency, renewable solutions, and upgrading the electrical grid. It was also a place to build the collaborative frameworks necessary to meet growing regional energy needs.

As we navigate accelerating climate change impacts, load growth, and shifting policies, the discussions at the conference centered on finding practical, scalable solutions. We heard from experts working to integrate renewable energy sources, enhance energy efficiency, and build a more resilient electrical grid. The consensus was clear: we have a lot of work to do, and we have to do this work together.

David Logsdon, Director of Electrification and Strategic Technology at City Light, provided one of the keynote speeches. David spoke about how electricity demand is growing at unprecedented rates and other challenges the industry is facing. He made a point to remind the audience that a positive mindset is vital for success.

“Optimism is important in how we think about the work we’re doing, even as we face headwinds. In this work ahead, we’ve got the talent, the creativity, the collaborative spirit, and we’ve got the right folks aligned here in the West Coast, that we need to get this work done.”

David’s message was clear: To achieve a sustainable energy future, we must work together and embrace bold ideas, nurture partnerships, and continue to innovate. By joining forces across organizations and communities, we can keep the momentum going and accelerate the clean energy transition our region needs.

Throughout the event, our City Light experts facilitated discussions, shared energy efficiency resources at our exhibitor booth, and led a technical session focused on distributed energy resources—demonstrating how smaller power sources can help meet the evolving demands of the grid. We also showcased the vital role of collaboration in providing targeted outreach tailored to our customers’ needs.

The 2026 AEE West Energy Conference showed that no single utility, city, or company can navigate the energy transition alone. The path to a reliable, decarbonized future runs directly through collaboration and partnership. The clean energy transition is well underway, and by working together, we can accelerate the momentum and build the sustainable future our communities deserve.
