New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo thanked Seattle City Light for its efforts to help the Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) restore power to hundreds of thousands of people on Long Island following Hurricane Sandy in November.
Employees throughout the City of Seattle gave generously to Hurricane Sandy relief, raising nearly $75,000 in support.
Repair crews from Seattle City Light and Ontario, Canada’s Horizon Electric have restored service to all customers in the Centre Island area of Long Island as part of the Hurricane Sandy recovery effort and City Light’s crews were preparing to start work in Muttontown.

Seattle City Light is sending 14 employees and support equipment to New York to assist in Long Island’s recovery from Hurricane Sandy. They will leave from Joint Base Lewis-McChord about 6 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 3.
