A power outage affecting a portion of the Seattle Center and the Seattle Monorail is the result of an equipment failure at Seattle Center.

The outage started about 7:00 a.m. It was affecting the Fun Forest area at Seattle Center and the Monorail.  The Monorail, which also is connected to power at Westlake Center, is running, but at half speed. Seattle City Light immediately dispatched a crew to investigate. The crew determined that City Light’s distribution lines were delivering power and the problem was associated with equipment at Seattle Center.
