Seattle City Light crews restored power to more than 33,000 homes and businesses by 10 p.m. today after high winds knocked down trees and branches throughout the Puget Sound Area, causing widespread outages.
About 13,000 customers were still without power and crews planned to work through the night restoring service.
An estimate for full restoration was set for sometime between 6 and 10 a.m. Sunday.
The priority for order of restroation was focused on feeder lines that provide power to thousands of customers, then lateral lines that serve hundreds, followed by transformers that serve up to about 10 customers and then service lines serving individual customers. That process gets the most people back in service as quickly as possible.
Updates on restoration are available on our online outage map.
