Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance honors Craig Smith with lifetime achievement award

Chief Customer Officer Craig Smith was awarded the Tom Eckman Leadership in Energy Efficiency Lifetime Achievement Award.

This month, the board of directors of the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (NEEA) honored winners of the 2023 Leadership in Energy Efficiency Awards in Portland, Oregon. Seattle City Light is thrilled to see Chief Customer Officer Craig Smith receive the Tom Eckman Leadership in Energy Efficiency Award for Lifetime Achievement. This is one of NEEA’s most prestigious awards, recognizing an individual for collaboration, innovative solutions, and lifelong contributions to advancing energy efficiency.

Over the past 25 years, Craig has contributed significantly to NEEA’s success, including serving as Chair of the Alliance’s Board of Directors, driving market transformation to improve energy efficiency, and advancing energy conservation in the Pacific Northwest.

Craig’s professional career spans several decades and parts of the country. He has always embodied outstanding achievement in advancing energy efficiency. He has helped shape the industry with his strong commitment to public service, business-oriented perspective, collaborative and cooperative nature, and visionary leadership.

Craig’s mentoring is an ongoing gift to the energy efficiency landscape in the region. We have been so fortunate to experience his profound belief and care for individual growth and how he recognizes that an individual’s success ultimately benefits everyone — often in unpredictable and surprising ways. He appreciates and respects everyone he works with, creating a welcoming and transparent environment. He has dedicated his career to advancing energy conservation within the region, and his commitment to public service is unwavering.
