The Basics

How long have you been at City Light? 4 years and 3 months

Division: Network

Tell us about your role. Our body of work is pretty extensive, but in short, it is to maintain, repair, and upgrade the Network Electrical Distribution System used in downtown Seattle, First Hill, and the U-District. This ensures maximum reliability to our customers.

Background

Hometown: Kingston, Wash.

Alma mater: Olympic College and Western Washington University

Discipline/Trade of study: Kinesiology

Tell us about your family/pets: My family is pretty close. We spend most of our free time together, whether it’s volunteering as soccer coaches, playing indoor soccer, or just hanging around at home, we’re usually all doing it together! We currently have two horses, two dogs, and a cat.

Just for Fun

What is one of your biggest accomplishments? Finding a nice balance between my work and home life has been great for me. It allows me to regularly volunteer in the community I grew up in and give back.

What motivates you at work? My coworkers motivate me at work. Operations as a whole is full of individuals who come together to do great work and have a good time doing it.

What advice do you have for those who are new to City Light? Find that balance between your home life and work; don’t sacrifice too much time with your family. Also, try and learn something new daily. If you do that over the course of a few years you’ll be better off for it!

What is your go-to karaoke song? I can’t really narrow it down to a single song, but I can say if you play anything by Journey, I won’t stay quiet.

Who do you admire the most? This is going to sounds cheesy, but probably my parents. They raised me well and taught me how to be the best I can be, both in and out of work. Without them I wouldn’t be where I am today.
