Seattle City Light started evacuating employees Wednesday from the town of Diablo and helped evacuate visitors at the North Cascades Institute’s Environmental Learning Center on Diablo Lake and at the Ross Lake Resort as the Goodell Creek Fire approached facilities at the utility’s Skagit Hydroelectric Project.
For the benefit of kayakers, canoeists, fishermen, visitors to Ross Lake Resort and others, Seattle City Light has installed a phone at the East Ferry landing on Diablo Lake.
Seattle City Light resumed service of the fisherman’s ferry on Diablo Lake this morning, June 22,following the installation of a replacement dock at the east end of the lake.
Seattle City Light is working to restore access to Ross Lake that was cut off by a rockslide in March that destroyed the landing dock at the east end of Diablo Lake.
