Electrical Reliability Work Planned on 4th Avenue

Seattle City Light crews plan to install an underground duct bank (groups of conduits used to protect electrical cables) on 4th Avenue, near Jefferson Street. This project is needed to maintain and provide future capacity for electrical growth in the downtown core.

Seattle City Light & Occidental Avenue Alley: A Milestone

Seattle City Light has made great strides in upgrading the electrical reliability of Pioneer Square and improving the looks of Occidental Avenue Alley. City Light crews excavated and replaced aging underground duct banks in the alley just east of Occidental Park earlier this year. In June, a contractor helped the project reach a milestone by restoring the alley with Pioneer Square Preservation Board-approved brick. When complete, the project will not only help increase the reliability and capacity of Pioneer Square; but also, the downtown electrical system.

Civil Improvements Scheduled on 1st Avenue South

Starting this May, Seattle City Light crews will complete the final trench work on 1st Avenue South, between South Royal Brougham Way and Railroad Way South. Civil construction crews will be installing a new electrical duct bank, which will upgrade aging electrical infrastructure in the SODO and Pioneer Square areas.

Electrical Reliability Work to Begin on NE Pacific Street This Month

Starting in mid-September, Seattle City Light will begin a new civil construction project  in the University District area. Crews will excavate and install underground electrical conduit along NE Pacific Street (between Montlake Boulevard NE and 15th Avenue NE). The work will increase electrical reliability for the area and support Sound Transit’s Link Light Rail expansion project.

Seattle City Light crews recently installed an electrical duct bank on 1st Avenue South, between South Royal Brougham Way and Railroad Way South. 

City Light Completes Duct Bank Installation in South Lake Union

In March 2018, Seattle City Light crews completed the final civil work in South Lake Union. Crews installed electrical vaults and duct banks on Harrison Street, between Dexter and 9th avenues north.

Crews to Install Electrical Duct Bank on 1st Avenue South

In early February 2018, Seattle City Light crews will be working along 1st Avenue South, between South Royal Brougham Way and Railroad Way South to install a new electrical duct bank. This work is needed to upgrade aging electrical infrastructure in the SODO neighborhood.

Electrical Infrastructure Improvements Near First Avenue South and South Jackson Street

Starting as early as August 2, Seattle City crews will be working in Pioneer Square to maintain the electrical reliability by replacing electrical conduits and pulling in new electrical cable at vaults. The work will occur near the intersection of First Avenue South and South Jackson Street.

Seattle City Light Completes Construction at 6th Avenue & Cherry Street

This past June, Seattle City Light recently completed the final stages of civil construction at 6th Avenue and Cherry Street. Crews excavated for new conduit (duct bank) between the existing electrical vaults on the west side of 6th Avenue and the south side of Cherry Street.

City Light to Perform Emergency Repair Work on 8th & Virginia

Seattle City Light is performing emergency repair work beginning this weekend, Saturday, May 13 and Sunday, May 14 to maintain the electrical reliability in the Belltown area.
