Electrical Reliability Work Planned on 4th Avenue

Seattle City Light crews plan to install an underground duct bank (groups of conduits used to protect electrical cables) on 4th Avenue, near Jefferson Street. This project is needed to maintain and provide future capacity for electrical growth in the downtown core.

Underground Electrical Upgrades Planned in Capitol Hill

In 2017, Seattle City Light crews installed underground electrical conduit, vaults and associated equipment in parts of the Capitol Hill neighborhood. This work was done as part of the City of Seattle’s ordinance to convert overhead power lines to an underground electrical system. The next step of this work involves pulling in cables to connect to the underground system. This is projected to begin in early March 2020.

Electrical Upgrades Planned in the Delridge Neighborhood

Seattle City Light crews plan to upgrade the electrical reliability of the Delridge neighborhood by replacing aging utility poles, overhead wire, and equipment along Southwest Brandon Street, 21st Avenue Southwest, Southwest Andover Street, and 23rd Avenue Southwest. These improvements will support growth for future electrical infrastructure in the area while reducing unplanned power outages.

Seattle City Light Completes Construction on 13th Avenue South

Seattle City Light crews have completed the final stages of construction on 13th Avenue South. Crews replaced aging electrical infrastructure and upgraded an existing electrical system that will reduce unplanned power outages and increase electrical reliability for the surrounding area.

Electrical Reliability Work Planned in Beacon Hill

Starting in early July 2019, Seattle City Light crews will replace aging electrical infrastructure in the Beacon Hill area. Crews will replace aging utility poles, overhead wire and equipment to help upgrade the existing electrical system.

City Light Completes Electrical Reliability Upgrades in Blue Ridge

In late 2018, Seattle City Light completed an electrical reliability project in Seattle’s Blue Ridge and North Beach neighborhoods. The work was part of a larger effort to replace an aging electrical system that was installed in the early 1970s.

Electrical Reliability Work to Begin on NE Pacific Street This Month

Starting in mid-September, Seattle City Light will begin a new civil construction project  in the University District area. Crews will excavate and install underground electrical conduit along NE Pacific Street (between Montlake Boulevard NE and 15th Avenue NE). The work will increase electrical reliability for the area and support Sound Transit’s Link Light Rail expansion project.

Arroyo Open House Scheduled for Wednesday, April 25

Seattle City Light is hosting an open house on Wednesday, April 25 to inform customers about an upcoming conduit installation project in the Arroyo/South Arbor Heights area. Customers are invited to stop by the Seattle Public Library’s Southwest Branch between 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. to learn more.
