Power Outages in Queen Anne, Fremont, West Seattle

Seattle City Light crews are working to restore power to more than 4,000 customers affected by an outage in North Queen Anne, Discovery Park, and Fremont.

Delay to Start of Warren Avenue Crossing Project

Seattle City Light’s planned start date for installation of new power lines onto the steel towers on either side of the Lake Washington Ship Canal at Warren Avenue in Fremont and Queen Anne has been delayed from May 2nd until mid-May.

Streetlight Inspection Update Jan. 5

Seattle City Light identified nine streetlights that were giving off voltage in the utility’s latest round of streetlight safety testing. No one was injured by any of the streetlights. In each case, City Light crews immediately cut power and started repairs.

Streetlight Safety Inspections Dec. 22 Update

Seattle City Light has agreed to contracts with two companies that will assist with inspections and tests of the utility’s metal streetlight poles and groundcover plates.

Superintendent Assures Public of Streetlight Safety

Superintendent Jorge Carrasco assures the public that a faulty streetlight that electrocuted a dog in Queen Anne was an isolated incident. He expresses his sympathy to the dog’s owner and commits to inspecting all similar lights in City Light’s system.

Top of Transmission Tower Repaired, Ready to Go Back Up

On Wednesday, Oct. 6, Seattle City Light crews will begin reattaching a 20 foot section of a 190 foot tall steel lattice tower on the north side of the Lake Washington Ship Canal next to the Burke Gilman Trail.
