Power Outage Information Part of Seattle City Light’s Commitment to Customer Service

When a problem happens that causes a power outage, Seattle City Light’s commitment to excellent customer service doesn’t change. We try to provide information about the outage quickly so our customers understand what happened, what we’re doing to fix it and how long that might take.

Seattle City Light Building Internal Audit Team to Champion Best Practices

Seattle City Light is in the process of hiring four auditors and a manager to create its own internal audit team. The new audit team will report to Jeff Bishop and Superintendent Jorge Carrasco.

Central Waterfront Transmission Line Relocation Field Work Continues Sunday

This Sunday, Feb. 24, crews will continue investigative fieldwork for phase 2 of the Central Waterfront Transmission Line Relocation Project. This includes potholing and geoprobe activities inside of the Seattle Tunnel Partners fenced-off work zone.

Power Restored in Greenwood, Greenlake Neighborhoods

Power has been fully restored following an outage caused when a car hit a power pole. Initially 4,095 customers were affected about 12:30 p.m.. Greenwood, Maple Leaf and Greenlake poweroutage

Crews are onsite and have determined a car struck a power pole. Crews must replace some of the hardware that keeps the pole in place. Estimate power will be restored by 4 p.m. Outage first was reported about 12:30p.m. and left and estimated 4.096 customers without power.

Power out in Greenwood and Maple Leaf neightborhoods

5th and Washington Duct Bank Project Beginning Next Week

Crews will install a new duct bank across 5th Avenue S at S Washington Street on Monday, Feb. 25. This project will connect existing underground power lines to increase service reliability. Crews plan to excavate across 5th Avenue at the north side of the intersection with S Washington Street. This project will not involve any scheduled power outages.

Power Restored To All West Seattle Customers

Seattle City Light crews have restored power to all customers in West Seattle by about 4 a.m. today, Feb. 20. About 3,279 customers in the area lost power at about 2:07 a.m. when a main underground electric cable failed.
