Seattle City Light Celebrates Outstanding Skagit River Salmon Run

An estimated 1.2 million pink salmon and 25,000 Chinook are crowding into the upper Skagit River below Seattle City Light’s three hydroelectric dams to spawn. It is the best spawning run on the Skagit in at least 35 years.

Residents meet with City Light Superintendent tonight

Seattle City Light holds a public meeting this evening, Oct.13, 2009, 6:30–8 p.m. on lower Queen Anne to discuss recent power outages on the hill and in Magnolia. Seattle City Light Superintendent Jorge Carrasco will be talking to residents who may have been affected by as many as four power outages during September.

City Light takes a Heart Walk
