Seattle City Light crews helping to restore power on Long Island following Hurricane Sandy are making progress in repairs for the Centre Island area where residents have responded with much appreciation.
Two power outages have left more than 4,000 customers in the dark this morning. An equipment failure in Shoreline has affected approximately 1,740 customers in Lake Forest Park, Olympic Hills and Shoreline. Restoration is expected around 5 a.m.
Seattle City Light crews restored power to all customers in the Beacon Hill area at about 10 p.m. The outage was detected at 8:10 p.m. affecting about 2,300 customers.

Seattle City Light will be upgrading the underground electrical cable system in the Hurstwood neighborhood of Burien beginning in late October. A community meeting will be held to explain the project tomorrow night, Tuesday, Oct. 16, from 7:00 – 8:30 pm. The meeting will be held at Mount View Elementary School, 10811 12th Ave. SW.
