Seattle City Light Establishes Temporary Pause on Planned Outages

Seattle City Light remains committed to providing safe and reliable power while prioritizing the safety of our customers and crews. While planned outages are important to maintaining and upgrading our infrastructure, outages can be burdensome, and even more so as our customers are at home working, teaching children, and maintaining a healthy life during the COVID-19 crisis. We’re temporarily adjusting our work to have the lowest impact on customers during this time.

Electrical Upgrades Planned in the Delridge Neighborhood

Seattle City Light crews plan to upgrade the electrical reliability of the Delridge neighborhood by replacing aging utility poles, overhead wire, and equipment along Southwest Brandon Street, 21st Avenue Southwest, Southwest Andover Street, and 23rd Avenue Southwest. These improvements will support growth for future electrical infrastructure in the area while reducing unplanned power outages.

Seattle City Light Completes Construction on 13th Avenue South

Seattle City Light crews have completed the final stages of construction on 13th Avenue South. Crews replaced aging electrical infrastructure and upgraded an existing electrical system that will reduce unplanned power outages and increase electrical reliability for the surrounding area.

Electrical Improvements Planned in Yesler Terrace

Starting this June, Seattle City Light crews will be working to improve electrical reliability in the Yesler Terrace neighborhood by installing new utility poles, overhead wire and equipment. This work is needed to replace aging electrical infrastructure and upgrade the existing electrical system.

City Light Completes South End Utility Pole Replacements

Contracted crews recently completed their work to replace aging utility poles in parts of Seattle City Light’s south end of the service territory. Crews replaced a total of 274 poles from March 2017 to December 2017.

Seattle City Light recently completed the final upgrades on several utility poles in support of the Advanced Metering program. Crews replaced 27 different poles across City Light’s service territory with new 70-foot poles and wireless infrastructure.

Utility Pole Replacements Scheduled in Beacon Hill

Later this month, Seattle City Light will continue replacing aging utility poles in parts of the utility’s service territory to improve and upgrade electrical reliability for customers. City Light’s contractor, Magnum Power LLC, will be installing new utility poles, relocating wires and replacing aging equipment in the Beacon Hill neighborhood.

City Light Continues Utility Pole Upgrades for Advanced Metering

From late March and April 2017, Seattle City Light will continue supporting Advanced Metering services throughout the utility’s service territory by replacing existing utility poles with taller poles, which will host wireless utility data collection equipment.
