Construction at Harrison Street to Resume in mid-January 2017

Starting in mid-January 2017, Seattle City Light will resume civil construction to install new vaults and conduit (duct bank) in the South Lake Union neighborhood. This project was previously on hold due to crew availability. The work will allow for increased electrical reliability in the surrounding area.

East Union Street Underground Conversion Project Starts in mid-January

Starting in mid-January 2017, a Seattle City Light contractor will be working in the Capitol Hill neighborhood to install underground electrical conduit, vaults and associated equipment in parts of East Union Street from 10th to 11th Avenue. This work is aligned with the City of Seattle’s ordinance to underground power lines in this area.

City Light Continues Utility Pole Upgrades for Advanced Metering

In January 2017, Seattle City Light will continue supporting Advanced Metering services throughout the utility’s service territory by replacing existing utility poles with taller poles, which will host wireless utility data collection equipment. The new poles will be 70 feet tall, which is about 20 feet taller than the existing poles.
