Seattle City Light holds a public meeting this evening, Oct.13, 2009, 6:30–8 p.m. on lower Queen Anne to discuss recent power outages on the hill and in Magnolia. Seattle City Light Superintendent Jorge Carrasco will be talking to residents who may have been affected by as many as four power outages during September.
Today Seattle City Light is the first utility to announce that it is offering customers the ability to link their electricity consumption data with Microsoft Hohm, an online application that tracks energy use and provides personalized energy conservation recommendations.
Seattle City Light is helping the historic Paramount Theater reduce its energy consumption and save money by replacing incandescent lighting with energy efficient fluorescent and LED fixtures — including a rebuild of the theater’s signature neon sign.
City Light employees, along with their friends and families, turned out for the Oct. 3, 2009 Puget Sound Heart Walk at Qwest Field in support of the American Heart Association. Seattle City Light crews have restored power to about 6,700 customers in Queen Anne and Uptown, who lost service about 1 p.m.
Seattle City Light’s vegetation management department has retained Washington Forestry Consultants Inc. of Olympia to conduct an inventory and assessment the trees and vegetation on its electrical transmission system in the state of Washington.
