Seattle City Light crews were responding to a power outage Tuesday that affected about 3,600 customers in the Ravenna, Roosevelt, View Ridge and Wedgwood neighborhoods of northeast Seattle. Seattle City Light is the 10th largest public electric utility in the United States. It has some of the lowest cost customer rates of any urban utility, providing reliable, renewable and environmentally responsible power to nearly 1 million Seattle area residents. City Light has been greenhouse gas neutral since 2005, the first electric utility in the nation to achieve that distinction.
Seattle City Council Adopts Seattle City Light Six-Year Strategic Plan

By a vote of 8-0, the Seattle City Council has passed a resolution adopting Seattle City Light’s proposed six-year strategic plan. The plan includes revenue requirements that equal about a 4.7 percent rate increase for each of the next six years.

Two power outages in the north Seattle and Shoreline areas were restored overnight, and everyone was back online by 4 Wednesday morning.

Just before 10 p.m. this evening, a power outage affected Shoreline and approximately 3,874 customers in that area. That number was quickly reduced to about 1,046 customers. Just before 4 p.m. this afternoon, a power outage affected the northSeattle and Shoreline areas. The number of customers affected is now down to about 768 from the original 2,700 customers.
