In March 2018, Seattle City Light crews completed the final civil work in South Lake Union. Crews installed electrical vaults and duct banks on Harrison Street, between Dexter and 9th avenues north.
In early February 2018, Seattle City Light crews will be working along 1st Avenue South, between South Royal Brougham Way and Railroad Way South to install a new electrical duct bank. This work is needed to upgrade aging electrical infrastructure in the SODO neighborhood.
Contracted crews recently completed their work to replace aging utility poles in parts of Seattle City Light’s south end of the service territory. Crews replaced a total of 274 poles from March 2017 to December 2017.

In late October 2017, a Seattle City Light contractor will be working along 42nd Avenue South in Tukwila, WA to repair existing electrical conduits and install new vaults. This work will enhance the electrical system’s reliability and reduce the likelihood of unplanned power outages.
A Seattle City Light contractor recently completed a year long project at the Skagit Hydroelectric Project to replace 52 deteriorating, wooden saddles that support the Newhalem Penstock. The old wooden saddles were replaced with new, cast-in-place concrete saddles that will provide structural support so that the penstock will not collapse.
Seattle City Light fiberoptic work will cause rolling slowdowns late at night from September 18-22 on Interstate 405 southeast of Alderwood Mall.
